Mechanical Engineering Intern at nLIGHT
At nLIGHT, I served as a subsystem design engineer for 12 weeks, owning end-to-end design and release of 5+ subsystem components. I addressed design requirements with an emphasis on design for manufacturability and assembly. I produced and revised component and assembly drawings with GD&T for nLIGHT’s Spectral Beam Combiner (SBC), NLA-Lightweight Amplifier, and NLA-N2 Amplifier. I also designed and implemented a safety system for 30kW SBC testing using SOLIDWORKS and Ansys. Finally, I analyzed production units with engineering deviations using random shock and vibration testing.
Because the company operated under ITAR compliance, I signed a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) and returned all materials at the end of my internship.
